Ok so I'm not sure if I'm being a bit anal but I recently removed the side-steps off my JL Sahara to change them for rock rails but I hate the fact that it now shows the ends of the cross beams of the undercarriage. I feel that it makes it look a bit unfinished and I'm trying to find out if there's any way to cover it up. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions. Below is a pic to show exactly what I mean....

3 inch zone lift. Fox 2.0 shocks. 35 inch nitto ridge grapplers. Bushwacker flat fenders. No name steel bumpers front and back for now.
You could weld a cap over the end of it. But still leave the holes in the bottom for water drainage. Just take a piece of plate steel to the end and reach from the back and trace it out. Cut the plate and weld it on. Then paint to match

Thanks Boondoc, I’m trying to leave that as my last resort being that I honestly don’t own any welding equipment but if it comes down to it then that’s what I’ll do

Hey Aggrex, I think this is just about the thing I was looking for. I'm going to look into this and get some samples in and I'll let you guys know how it works out. Thanks a lot!

FYI: similar cross beam (wimpy) was used on AT JK Wranglers. To install the aftermarket oil pan/trans skid that cross beam was removed and discarded. Not sure on the JL
