Brake pedal is tight

    Just bought my first Jeep 2002 wrangler sport and the brake pedal is rock hard any suggestions

    Welcome @Pir2l8 ....just curious as lot of new members seem to have unusual problems from recent jeep purchases. Was the problem apparent during the initial test drive or occur recently. Anyway besides being hard brake pedal is the jeep stopping properly? Thinking minor (vacuum) or major MC/booster

    the engine is STOCK a 4.0L ?
    check the brake booster vacuum line - good vacuum?

    highlighted in red is the vacuum line, engine at idle there should be a strong vacuum on the line - removing from master should stall engine,

    it is a stock motor, there is no cap on the vacuum and there is a strong vacuum . when I remove and the motor stalls what does that mean?

    I was trying to point to the vacuum line location, see if the check valve the fitting in the booster is open to allow vacuum into chamber.
