Leased Jeep aftermarket kit problems

    hello I am currently leasing a 2017 Jeep Wrangler 4-door gunmetal gray. When I started leasing the Jeep it was sitting pretty with a hundred miles on the dashboard the dealership it was at installed a aftermarket 3 inch lift kit 35 inch mud tires and a light bar it was looking pretty. The first two thousand miles I noticed a knocking in the back so I took the Jeep to the dealership they gave me a rental car. I did not hear from the dealership for about three and a half weeks so I decided to call them to see what was going on with my Jeep. They told me my shocks were bad and they assumed I went mountain rock climbing. They did not want to warranty the shocks at that point. So I called Chrysler capital and they finally convinced to replace the shocks that were bad. I drove the Jeep for about 10000 miles and took it in for an oil change and a full inspection and the shocks were bad again. The dealership did not want to warranty them. So I called Chrysler capital and they replace the shocks. I now have about 20,000 miles on the Jeep and I'm having more suspension issues. Chrysler capital is telling me they are willing to pay a portion of the cost of whatever it would take to fix the problem correctly. My question is because it's a leased vehicle is any of this my responsibility to pay for? Am I lucky that they're offering to pay for part of it? Or should I even have to pay for anything at all? I appreciate all of your help and all the time it took to read this!

    ideal situation.
    The jeep was leased from an authorized jeep dealer?
    The 'modifications' were done by an authorized dealer using jeep parts*?
    The jeep was delivered to you with the work already done?

    Thoughts - you claim shocks are bad? What brand "FOX" maybe?
    Have a state inspection done if shocks fail the vehicle :crapstorm: it hits the fan - with only 20K your in warranty period.

    A lawyer is a suggested consult. Some specialize in car/warranty issues. Wont hurt to reach out to one NOW.


    * jeep has lift kits in the 'Authentic Mopar Parts and Accessories' catalog.

    Look at your lease contract for wear+tear. You didn't modify the jeep so it should limit your responsibility like tires within your lease period.

    Every State has different laws on leases, as was already mentioned, edjucate yourself on the leasing laws in your state.

    You can check your attorney General website, call your attorney General, call an attorney and/or, check your lease agreement

    Be careful of the lease agreement, it likely will be worded in a vague way to infer the leasor is not responsible.

    Unfortunately there's a reason attorneys call leasing, fleesing.
