I’m looking at options for lift kits. What are some opinions on the rough country vs Tera flex? Is the Tera flex that superior that it cost $650 vs the rough country $300? Thanks in advance

Personally, I would steer clear of anything "Rough Country". Total Junk. Can't go wrong with Teraflex. I just put the Icon 2.5" lift on my JL.fullsizeoutput_1fac.jpg

Do your research. It comes down to what your looking for. What the kit offers. And if you have to purchase other components to complete your lift. Personally. I have TeraFlex, RC, and Skyjacker crap on my JK. And it works great for me. Not to mention. Currie Suspension as well.....
Again...do your research. If some one says a product is crap. Without fact to back it up, As to why. Don't rule them out based on one review. Cuz they might just have what your looking for. Do your research.

I'm looking at lifts as well. What are some pros cons to the teraflex? Rough country?

I know every kit is different to someone's needs. I use my Jeep as a daily driver, mostly on highway but looking to so some off-roading here in some of Florida's forrests with my son in the next year or so.

    There's a ton out there.
Browse quadratecs lift section and read the reviews.

Havnt lifted my JLU yet but will prob go with Evo or dynatrac.

I love my evo coil overs on my jk. The lift out performs every non coil over lift I’ve seen. It has so much travel that the tires stay on the ground all the time. Where other jks have needed low and rear locked I do it in high with open diffs.

Think I'm leaning towards Tera Flex 2.5 now. Anyone here have that life and can comment on any Pros/cons?

Also, how complicated is the install? Trying to see if I could change this myself in my garage or if I should take to a professional?

And should I get the exhaust extender as well?

Im not fimilar with that lift kit. But if your handy with the wrenches, have some patience, and a six pack at the ready. You should be able to handle it your self. And you shouldn't need an exhaust spacer. Usually 3" and over that's recommended.

You've been taking on alot of DIYers. And building a nice JKU. Go for it dude. As you know....buncha peeps here to help ya.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I would be doing the install while watching YouTubeDIY. Just a little skeptical because of the process and all the parts involved. Don't want to miss something or not install in right order. Or come across something halfway through that I could have known was too much for me to do ahead of time.

Is there anything else besides the Tera flex 2.5 kit I need to get to install at the same time(sway bar)?

Also, if I decide to get inner fenders later can I get around the shocks without having to uninstall again?

Tie rods don't need to be replaced for a lift. The track bar should be if you don't have an adjustable, or the kit doesn't come with one. The lift will throw your body out of wack with the frame. And the track bar will bring them back in line.

You should have no issues with inners in regards to your shocks. Should bolt right in.

Edit.....you should replace front and rear track bars. My bad only mentioning one.

This. Please dont mess around with cheap track bars. Get heavy duty one, you'll appreciate the ride when you hit a bump and your wheels arent moving side 2 side.

The top lifts in my book are metalcloak, rock krawler, teraflex, as well as the others that have been mentioned. I have teraflex shocks and springs, Core 4x4 control arms, adj sway bar liks, Rough country trac bars. Guess what my weak link is........

If I had it to do all over again I would've bought that MC 3.5 game changer kit and called it a day.
