Ok - Update: Car has been at the Dealership officially 2 weeks and one day. I called yesterday and they said they ordered the wire connector to the PCM and will install it today. I said “is that going to fix my problem” and the service manager says...”we hope so - we will see”.

This is what the service manager is telling me today -
“Got a bit of bad news, your gonna need a wiring harness. That sucker ain't cheap though. Its $2,700(+)tax”

Update - called and spoke to GM. He was shocked that my car has been at his dealership 4 months. Service Manager was fired a couple weeks ago and he had apparently closed out the ticket. So it’s been sitting there for weeks with no one working on it. This is crazy

The fix turned out to replacing that sensor for the 4th time.

ok - so I got the Jeep back last Saturday. Engine light hasn’t gone back on yet but it is still acting rough though at that 65-70 spot. Sometimes it’s around that 60 mph spot...other times it is riding smooth. When I say rough I mean it feels a little like maybe the spark plug is missing or shaking a little bit. It’s noticeable but other times it feels like it will go smooth through these speeds. Really weird. What can that be? A spark plug? I believe it’s right at that 1600 rpm spot...maybe 1700 sometimes and going anywhere around 60-75. Another strange occurrence happening again are the windows going down when tuning off the car and lights flashing. This happened a few months ago when I first got the car and I changed the batteries in the key fob. What is going on? Any thoughts or ideas? Tomorrow I am supposed to be going back and taking the service manager for a drive. He claims he did drive it and it was running fine between those speeds....but I know enough to know that it isn’t right/perfect.

Are you saying that the Alternator was causing the P0339 codes and sensors to fail?

See the recall I just received in mail. Goes back to that fuel pump relay. Can a bad fuel pump relay cause those codes my vehicle was putting out? It’s been 6 months now and they say it is fixed and are still baffled. They did replace that relay again - even though true fix isn’t out again. Thoughts??

Hey I do have a question - does a scope create a wave form?

I guess what I am specifically asking is a scope normally used to determine if a care needs a new wire harness??

No....not that I'm aware of. Scopes are usually used to determine internal issues.

Well Engine light popped back on again today. GM of the Dealership took car out for drive with me and he acknowledged one of the problems - car vibrating at 60-70 mph. I feel it has to do with fuel...but am not certain. Very lost at the moment and waiting for dealership to call me back with options for next step.

it feels smooth once it gets to 70 and it also feels alright up to 60 (for the most part). Sometimes it does seem a little off, but to me it feels like the car isn’t getting the fuel correctly.

Also - I was asking that why in the world would they replace my wire harness?? Wouldn’t a scope be able to tell them if the correct voltage was producing?

still complete craziness. 4th time Jeep returned and engine light popping on after about 400 miles of driving. Never has been corrected for running rough 60-70 mile range.

What is the Powertrain Verification test? Do you have the rest of this info?

as far as the waveform scope results - they are saying the do not see any problems/issues. It apparently is producing a correct pattern.

Man alive.... this Jeep is giving you fits! A scope can be used to test many things in a visual form so that it is easier to identify a problem. With that being said you have to know what you are looking at and get it to “act up” to see a problem. Honestly there are so many different things that could be going on with your Jeep that it’s going to be almost impossible to give you good advice. I would try taking your Jeep somewhere else for another opinion. Remember dealership or not they are only as good as there best technician and it sounds like they are stumped.

Yes...I finally got it away. I’m taking it to a new place tomorrow. The only reason I hung in so long with that dealership was because 1. They were providing a loaner, 2. They had replaced almost every related part prior, 3. They were trying to rectify for the wire harness that didn’t fix it.

I’m at Bad Alternator, bad wire, ground, short...we will see.

if this fails - trade in I guess. I’m in a weird position to trade but if that can be part of this solution. I still really feel like it is something crazy easy to fix and is causing all this havoc
