    Hi guys,

I bought a CJ 7 from a nice owner with a completely rebuilt Jaspers 4.2 L Inline 6 258 engine. I would like to replace existing oil with high performance synthetic oil but don't know what type of oil I need to use / should use for the Jaspers 4.2 L Inline 6 258 engine.

Much appreciate any info, thanks again.

Welcome @Mylinh89 ...my suggestion would be to contact Jasper directly. I can't see how quality syn 5W30 would be a problem.

I had a Jasper 4.0 inline dropped in my 2000 XJ. They had a break in oil in it which I was told to replace after 500 miles. Their break in period. And I could replace it with any oil I desired. Which I did with as @aggrex mentioned. 5w30 full synthetic. And put about 175k on it before I traded it in. You'll be fine with the same.
And just to clarifie. Jasper remanufactures Mopar motors. You should use what is spec'ed for motor. Synthetic or not.

BTW. @Mylinh89 . Well ome to the forum. :jeepwave:
