Bought some tires yesterday, all four 235/75/15.

    I had a 215/75/15 and a 235/75/15 on my rear and two bald 225/75/15
on my front. I have all but the passenger front tire running 235/75/15...seems hard to find a mechanic to torch off or cut the lug nuts.

Removing the bad lug or wheel stud should have been step #1 today and 6 months ago. I would have drilled or cut or burned that Ba@t$rd off as I don't like getting stuck-on-the-road..... only off-road LOL

I tried but I keep getting the runaround from mechanics around here and my uncle and Grandpa find it to be a problem to come to their house and use their torch... So I tried to at least get the tires and have the others mounted. I don't know why it seems so hard to find somebody to cut these lug nuts off at a shop.

Play dumb, dont mention you know of issue - go to tire shop, purchase a new tire for the stuck wheel, either they will 'manage' to get it off for sake of sale OR will balk... and offer advise - not rocket science.

they advised you WHAT did they suggest?

I would suspect they deal with this often - more so than jifffy lube...

They advised me the lugs and studs free spin. I asked if they cut it off and they told me no.

Yes I googled it, I found what he found online and I also found a nut splitter for about 15 bucks but it has mixed reviews and with my lug nuts sitting inside the wheel it would be hard to get to with a nut splitter... With the studs free spinning, do you think the lug nut ripper would work? Says it's for stuck or seized lug nuts, would the stud have to be stable for this to work?

But you have to know what you're doing to do it safely and successfully. There has to be a tire shop that will take this spinning lug nut problem on once you free them from ANY liability.

Yep a cutting torch is very likely to leave a mark on your wheels especially if aluminum.

What the hell. Dude. @TinyInkognegroT . Thought you took care of this like months ago. Again...jump in on alil late. But WTF . Tires and brakes. 2 most important functions of Any vehicle.
No.....that will not work. You can light a camp fire or a blunt with that. :rasta:. It's not the torch you need. Most welding shops can do this for ya. Any near ya?
