I just replaced the battery and as I backed into a parking spot I noticed my gen light on. Does anyone have any idea as to what it could be? Thanks.

So why did you replace the battery? as the alternator does not seem to be charging

I was on my way home and I lost all my gauges and my radio volume....I stopped at O'Reilly's and shut off the motor. When I tried to start it, nothing. They put a battery tester on it and it had reported a bad cell.....it was two years old, and because it wouldn't start the couldn't check the alt.

Auto parts stores like Advance Auto / Autozone can test the alternator in or off the vehicle. Belt tight?

'because it wouldn't start the couldn't check the alt."

And after installing the new battery why could they not test the charging system?

Anyway post back if you need a step step testing, All you will need is a DVOM aka multimeter.
