I just got a 07, 4 door wrangler it is essentially stock. I don't have the money for a high quality suspension upgrade at the moment, I'm putting it off until I can do it right. What upgrades would you guys recommend making ASAP. I've heard the stock bumpers are almost useless, should I start there? It already has bigger mud tires, a light bar, new Fender flares, and LED headlights. Keep in mind I'm using it as a daily driver too.

I am curious what suspension people recommend. I'm trying to have good clearance while still keeping the center of gravity low. I'm thinking no more than a 3.5" or 4" suspension lift would fit my needs.

Hey @COroamer . Your kinda all over here. You have the tires and wheels you like at the moment. Lifts? Anything over 3 inch. You looking at numerous other upgrades. But any lift. Your Gonna need to make other adjustments and more money.
So......with the jeep you have now. What's your vision for it,??? And let's go from there. And it would help if you posted up a pic or two.

In order to keep the COG low my suggestion would be to check out a complete 2.5"-3" TeraFlex lift kit. Enough lift for the daily driver and traversing most off-road trails. In stock form the 3.8 is adequate but power output gets challenged by upgrading to larger tires thus the usual recommendation is budgeting for regearing.

Haven't taken any pics my self these are from the previous owner. My goal is to make it a "weekend warrior" I live in Colorado so I'm about 45 minutes away from good trails. I also have plans to go to moab and some trails in Utah, basically I need a rig that can drive its self home after some mid level trails. I dont want go any bigger than 35" tires with a 4" suspension lift due to the fact it's a daily driver.

My question is mostly what should I do before I add the lift and 35s to make sure it's ready for all that added stress and what components I need to upgrade now to take it on some beginners trails. I'm having a hard time narrowing it down incase that wasnt obvious lol I'm just itching to start the transformation but want to make sure I do it right.

At what size tire should I regear? Would you recommend getting Dana 44s at that point since the unlimited doesn't come with those? Thanks for the tip on the suspension I'm only a paycheck away from those lol:spending:

Adding skid plates for the gas tank>evap canister>oil pan/trans is what I have done. Trails are best traversed slow+steady but some jeepers add axle truss, control arm skids, thick diff covers etc. Larger tires could add stress to the Dana 30 up front. Oh ....don't forget BBK for halting them big 35-37s
