Wife and I recently rented a 2019 Wrangler Sport that had the 4 cylinder motor. We drove it for about 10 days and found it to be peppy. We drove it both in the city and mostly highway. I was very impressed with the fuel economy. The dash indicator said I was getting high 20s mpg most of the time - and, it showed up to 32 mpg average touring state and national parks driving 40 to 50 mph.

Dealers recommended the six for a new order since it is tried and proven.

Any recommendations for a new order?

Welcome @Loz42 ...good idea to rent one to make sure that's the jeep for you. The 4 cyl has a lot of new tech coupled with the 8 spd AT to give good performance and economy. Too early for good information on reliability but thats why FCA offers the extended warranty. Most FCA products do not have stellar reliability ratings. The 3.6L V6 has been used in various FCA products (challenger,Grand Cherokee, minivan etc) and in the Wrangler since 2012 so most of the common problems should have been addressed. The 4 cyl is rated for less HP but more torque which would explain your peppy experience. My 3.6 V6 mpg ranges from 16-19 so the 4 cyl will be the choice for max mpg.
