I finally had to cancel my Guardian subscription. It has never worked.

When I bought the vehcile, I activated the Guardian service. I downloaded the app to my phone and every time I tried to remote start, lock/unlock doors, etc... I would get a fail notification.

I pressed the Assist button in the vehicle and the representative told me I need to "call back" from the vehcile. When I explained that I was "calling" from the vehicle the representative informed me that the vehcile was not transmitting its VIN or location.

During some troubleshooting, pressing the SOS button had the same results - the emergency operator was unable to see the vehicle's VIN or location.

I bought the vehicle to the dealer and they reset the Uconnect system. Using the assist button provided the same results - not transmitting VIN or location. App still didn't work either.

I had to schedule another appointment with the delarship's Uconnect specialist. He updated the software but was unable to resolve the issue.

Unfortunately, since the dealership doesn't own the vehicle, SiriusXM refuses to speak to the service technician so they can troubleshoot the issue together. All other SiriusXM services work - just not Guardian.

4 months later and the problem still exists. I canceled the service because I'm not going to pay for something I cannot use. Unfortunately, the Guardian feature was one of the big selling points when buying the vehcile (money not so well spent).

Both Jeep (Fiat Chrysler corporate) and SiriusXM have said there is nothing they can do - Jeep says the Uconnect system is functioning properly and SiriusXM says their system is functioning properly.

Has anyone had an issue where the vehcile was not transmitting its VIN and location when using the Assit or SOS buttons? And, were you able to fix it?
