93 5.2 zj 4x4. Getting ready to do some maintenance. Starting with washing it. I pull into the self serve stall at the car wash and shorty after shutting the engine off I'm sitting here checking some prices and "bang"... ... "clunk" - noises are coming from what sounds like the rear differential. Releasing pressure? Bad gear? Any ideas ?

Wow.....not sure what could make noise back there with Engine off, not moving. Maybe a purge system?

I know right. Surprised the crap outta me. Maybe a purge thing is what I'm leaning on. I happens especially after the drivetrain has to work hard bouncing and moaning around parking lots and tight maneuvers.. new u joints and rubbers all around to tighten it all up so we'll see. gonna go grease everything today . It's all coming out and being replaced at some point so meh, I just wont beat on er'. The time will come haha.

Unusual to have any clunk noise from the rear end when parked. Perhaps frozen calipers or parking brakes
