    Hey there!

New jeep owner, new DIY mechanic too...
My starter went out on my manual transmission 2.5l 4cyl 02TJ. I bought a replacement according to the specs from Quadratec. But, the mounts aren't anywhere close. Who knows, maybe my specs are wrong.

I've uploaded a picture and hoping some expert may be able to help.

    Thanks!

What starter did you get from Quadratec?

I attached a screenshot of the part.

    Thanks for your reply.

Interesting. Wonder why the two different starters for the same engine? Different block castings?
I guess there is something to be said for buying from a local parts store, hopefully this isn't your only vehicle or you are able to buy local to get back on the road and then return the Quadratec starter for a refund.

QT is a good company to work with. Let them know about the issue and they should be able to work something out. Perhaps a different part# or motor was used. Check the local Advance or Autozone for the specific starter.

Thanks for all the replies! I'll go to my local parts store with the starter and see if they have a match.

I thought it was wierd too. The mounting of the starter seems, strange and unsecure. But I'm not not an engineer!

    Again, thanks!
