Hey everyone, I have a 2 door Willy's that I bought 2 months before I found out was pregnant. Long story short, I ended up getting divorced and could not get a new vehicle so I am stuck with my 2 door. That being said I have to find a way to make a convertible car seat work in my two door. The infant car seat with the latch system was working well, but now he outgrew that. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do or how to make a convertible car seat work?

Welcome to the forum @Jeepmama217 . Check with your local Police Dept.
Here in NJ. The local Police have seminars every so often. Also, they usually nave several Officers that are trained in different car seats, and vehicles. Hopefully they can help.

Understand restraining orders but hardly an expert on child restraints. Two pairs of LATCH + tether strap anchorages are available in the two-door rear seat. Manual states "convertible child restraint, facing rearward in the rear seat of the vehicle". It goes on to say "children should remain rear-facing until they reach the highest weight or height allowed by their convertible child seat". Two-door JKs are fun but can be challenging to use daily for passengers but the provisions are there. Take care and be safe.

I had the same problem with my Grandson. I have a 17 2door Willys and figured it would just be me and the wife since I also had a crew cab truck I was good...WRONG! That boy is up Granddad”s butt! he thinks he has to be with me in the Jeep! He loves the top down. I tried everything imaginable but his seat was too big! I loaded him in through the back window between the roll bars. He didn’t like that and I certainly didn’t like it! Sooo, along came the JKU. Sorry I’m not anymore help but JK 2 doors aren’t kid friendly. My TJ has a switch that cuts the airbag off to the front passenger seat with the key. i wish the JKs had them!
