Hello everyone I'm new to jeep and just bough 2000 Wrangler 3.5 inch lifted allready and had small tires i decide to swap to a 33 and it seems like it loses power. The car doesn't go over 62mph on the highway.

Can anyone advise me on why that happened? Thanks in advance.

Almost forget I have a 4 cylinder engine, automatic tranny

What size tires did it have on it and what is your axle gearing?

The previous tires were 255/55R18 and I think the Jeep it's stock the previous owner looks like made some minor changes

Essentially, when you changed to larger tires, you changed the gearing of the Jeep. With the small 2.5 and a 3 gear auto, these changes can make a MASSIVE difference with what may seem like a moderate change in tire size.

    Ricardo,

That depends upon what YOU want to do. You could take the tire size back down or regear to make up for the difference.

Do you know what your current axle gear ratio is?

The original tires on the 2000 Wrangler were 30" tall and a 4.10 gear ratio I believe. If you went up to 33" tires you will need to have 4.56 gears to have the same factory ride. Here is the formula:

New tire X Old gear ratio= New gear ratio
    Old tire

    33 X 4.10=4.51 Round up to 4.56 gears
    30

You might consider going to 4.88 gears just for a little extra Umph. I don't think it will hurt your top end fuel mileage much, and you'll have a lot more get up and go from stop.
