So I just bought my first Wrangler and I want to fold the windshield down. My Jeep has a Temp/Compass feature built into the mirror. How does one go about removing the mirror from its mount?

As you will discover lowering the Wrangler windshield remains possible but tedious as there are plenty of bolts, bars and plates that need to be removed. Getting it all back together will be just as interesting. Don't own an '06 but most mirrors either use a small screw or require a small tool to press an inner tab to release the mirror from the button on the windshield. Be forewarned that poor technique or rough handling can easily crack a windshield.
