Bought a used 2017 Jeep 2017 Wrangler Sport with 37000 miles. 3 days later battery light kicks on. Testing it the alternator was outputting under 12V with battery testing fine. Buy new alternator and same thing. Replace new alternator and battery light doesn't kick on. Now the battery light will kick on at random times and with testing alternator and battery with light on both testing where they should be. Could I possibly have a glitch in the ECU or just a bad sensor?

Welcome @amanda13 ...just some thoughts before condemning the ECU: ensure good ground connections (all), any cranking issues, questionable reman parts, get alt/batt tested at parts store like Advance auto. Any warranty since your just past the factory 3yr/36

I had a friend at O'Riley's test it and they commented on the EDU could be a possible issue. Unfortunately I bought it at a dealer that's about a three hour drive from me and they only do in house warranty service so Id have to commute back out there. Just wondering if there was something I could do at home to fix the issue. @aggrex

This sounds how all my issues began. Is ECU the same as PCM?

@amanda13 ...having issues 3 days after purchase is not cool and if its the EDU I would schedule in that 3 hr drive to that dealer to have them diagnose the issue. EDU issues are not for the novice (myself included) and I would get that confirmation that it's not the EDU.
