Rattle noise from dashboard???

Just a little info on problem 2019 Jeep compass, now solved. Vehicle had a rattle from the right dashboard area from the time it was delivered from dealer. This noise seemed to be coming from underneath the dashboard, adjacent to the right of the central HVAC vent. Noise was intermittent and unpredictable, but always present when hitting bumps, even small irregularities in the road. Dealer was unable to correct this issue, even when advised about the specifics of the source of the noise.

Got fed up last week and dropped the glove box, pretty simple 15 minute task. Sure enough there is a large wire harness with several connectors directly behind the noisy area of the dashboard. This harness is large and has several electrical connectors to HVAC, display, and other units. The harness has a couple of restraints, but it was loose enough to rattle around and bang into the HVAC duct, as well as other dash components. A large plastic label on the harness was also rubbing against things causing a rustling type sound.

So, 6 zip ties later, all wiring secured and noises are gone, on all road surfaces.

Just thought I would pass this on if anyone else has a rattling dashboard.
