Hi my trans went on my 99 Cherokee sport. It’s a 4.0 inline 6, I found a grand Cherokee being parted out. It’s a 4.0 inline 6 as well. I am not sure if it is exchangeable. Can not find any info online so I came here for help. Hopefully someone can give me a straight answer! Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum @Natemac6 . Is it an auto or manual?
I believe manuals are rare for XJs. But the automatic XJs used an AW4 from 87 to 2001. And the manuals were NV 3550s. Not sure of the years thou.

What year is the GC? Motor doesn't necessarily mean they use the same tranny. The only GC tranny I know of is a 42RE. Up to......I forget what year at the monent
