84 CJ7 burning antifreeze

    stock with headers
    burns antifreeze on start up then goes away. new engine , wondering if intake manifol has worn out coolant passages .. does thos happen?

    I doubt it, but one way to check that would be to disconnect and block off the two heater hoses going into it. After that blow out the remaining coolant from the intake manifold. By disconnecting the intake manifold cooling system, it will overheat the fuel mixture when the engine warms up to the point where it will affect engine operation somewhat. A cracked head can also leak coolant into the cylinders, so that might be a possibility.

    Agreed. Cracked head. Or blown head gasket. And hope for the blown gasket. Lesser of the 2 evils by far..You can check for a crack in the block by starting Jeep. Let it get to operating temps with the radiator cap off. You will see steam, coolant, coming from the motor. Also...drain oil. If you have coolant in it. Blown gasket.
