I am new to this group and looking at purchasing a 1979 CJ for my 16 year old son. The jeep has 70k miles but was towed behind an RV for many years. It has some rust under the seats , inside the fenders and on the rear bumper. It is clean besides that and starts right up. I wanted to take it apart and kind of start over with all new modern equipment. I was thinking of offer the seller 4 or 5 k for it. He does have a hard top and a soft top and and extra set of doors. It has new 33 inch wheels and tires. What do you think would be a fair price to pay?

I own a 2020 Jeep JL that I just got done add all Fab Four fenders and bumpers on it. But now it's time to go back in time and rebuild and older model.

The CJ looks nice based off the pics and the price range can be wide depending upon condition and supply/demand. IMO it wouldn't make a safe vehicle for novice drivers.
