I have a 1991 yj that has a 2.5L in it going to put a 4.0L in it. Was wanting to put a carburetor on it. What is y’all’s thought and what year intake would work on a 1996 motor?

It would probably work just fine with something like a MC2100 carb. An aftermarket fuel injection would perform a lot better and get better gas mileage, plus it won't stall out on steep hills. Although you will have to turn the engine off if you roll it over. https://howellefi.com/product-category/jeep-tbi-products/

That looks fine but was just wanting to go with a carburetor. I have found a adapter plat that will go on a throttle body intake to make it a carburetor.
