Spent 2 hrs yesterday taking my door apart cause the outside handle was about to fall out, Found that idiotic wedge in the bottom of the door Pushed it up beside the spring clip thingy on the handle. It went like a glove . Took flat screwdriver tapped it a couple times..........SUCCESS Put all back together shut door this morning Kapling! I said oh crap I know what that was. Any tricks to make it stay in place JB weld the edges maybe then drive it in?????? Thanks in advance!

Whatever adhesive you choose just make sure to give it time to set before slamming the door. I might choose a fair amount of silicone or RTV adhesive for flexibility and ability to remove if you misalign it.
