    Perhaps
I was just "gifted" an '81 CJ5. I was told the engine is a '78. The carburetor has been nothing but trouble for years and I've decided it has to go. The trouble is I don't know if its the original from the '81 or if it came with the '78 engine swap. From looking at parts catalogs, the carbs from '78 and '81 are not the same. I don't know if it's a Weber or Carter or something else, but it is a single barrel. Any help on Identifying and/or recommending a replacement would be appreciated. I'm looking for reliability, not power. I'm leaning towards keeping it as close to stock except in cases where the aftermarket is a better value. Thanks!
