Won't start after popping noise

I was just on the highway cruising at about 70 when I heard a pop and I lost all throttle control and there’s a leak under the car, the check oil light came on. It’ll turn over but it won’t start. Don’t have a clue as to what happened.

 

The sudden pop noise followed by an oil leak triggering the oil warning light is not going to have a good ending unless all three symptoms are not related. Worst case scenario the engine threw a rod or something minor like an oil filter leak. More details might get you the answers you seek.

I did, problem as it turns out was an ignition coil went bad, there was prior to this an oil leak that I had known about however after this it did start pissing oil, I’ll have to look more into that. The way I had described the problem was the way I had perceived it, what most likely had happened is that it just shut itself off and I had thought it was still on.

 

Ignition coils, cam and ignition sensors do not last forever, although from my experience they do give you little warning when they are going bad. A common location for an oil leak is the valve cover, for which the contact surfaces have to be real clean. Oil filter adapters are another.
