I'm trying to figure out how to do that . I tried to get on here a couple times. Guess I was doing something wrong with username. A kid could out do me with phone lol . I'm a pretty good mech . Have mostly repaired engines to stock . Looking for some tips to get more power out of my 304 . Like a good cam , matched with intake and carb . If you can lmk how you post pics . My Jeep is in pieces. I still have got some of what I've done . Thanks for any help.

I’ve never done it personally, but I know people who have with other motors...
You can change to an oversized cam with rocker rollers and bore it out.
Be forewarned, however, that with more power you’ll have to adjust other components or even swap out stuff, ie. transmission, axle gears and t case.

Sorry for the confusion, you wouldn’t change the gears in the t case. But you may need to upgrade it to a stronger one to handle the power

D300 wouldn't be strong enough . I would think it would . With what I'm talking about it wouldn't make that much more power . 30 or 40 more maybe . I'm just guessing though . May not be worth it anyway.

With 30 or 40 you can do minor mods to get to that. Cold air intake, upgraded exhaust, header, carb etc.

That's the thing idk what would be a good cam lift to put in it . I'm a pretty good mechanic. Most off all the work I've done. Has just been repairing a car , truck , etc to stock . Do you know of a good xam , intake , and carb ? Right now it has long tube headers with side pipes. Gave thought about running it to the back. If you gave any Ideas lmk . Thanks in advance.

Holly demon 4 barrel is probably the best you can get on a Jeep. But I don’t know if they make them for your motor. I put one on an older wagoneer with a v8. Something you might consider is to do a swap for fuel injection. The kits pretty cheap and, I don’t know where you’re located but here in Colorado when you get to a higher elevation It vapor locks and overheats. As far as the cams, it’s specific to the motor you have. It would probably be better to run your exhaust out the back because if it’s in front of a tire it will melt the tire down faster coming from experience

I have a D300 with a 4 to 1 conversion and it works just great. Although with all that extra torque going to the wheels, I go easy on the skinny pedal as not to break anything. I also have a fuel injection conversion, it adds more power and better gas mileage.
