Just got an ‘06 TJ...it’s in great shape, however I’m not happy with the bumpers. It has double tube bumpers on front and back..they do not seem sturdy to me. I want to change them out for a set of bumpers that will allow a front tow hitch to be installed for hook to my pick up for when I want to take the jeep on longer trips from the house. I would also like to be able to add a winch at a later date. I’m not concerned about a receiver hitch on the rear. I don’t want to break the bank, but want something that looks good. Current bumpers are chrome, but I think I’d like black (although I’m open to chrome)...thanks in advance

For flat towing, that I have been doing for many years, I would suggest adding some more reinforcement between the bumper and the frame. Like increase the strength that ties them together, I use a heavy duty piece of angle iron on my CJ.

    Ur welcome scott75656.
I really like my 5000$ TJ I have had so much fun in it I don’t think I would have anymore in a 40,000$ one I know I wouldn’t I would not want to tear it up too hard to get when you pay ur own way

It is a lot cheaper and easier to fix the older Jeeps even on the trail.
