I just purchased a 2020 Grand Cherokee limited last week. As I was driving home from the dealership I noticed the steering wheel was not straight. But the car was driving straight. Took it back to the dealer on Monday and they said that the alignment is fine and something about the electric power steering adjusting the angle and there is no fix for that. Isn’t this just a simple drag link adjustment? Anyone else have this issue?

Interesting, and it does sound like a drag link adjustment. You might want to crawl underneath and look for any damage from an accident. Do some further research online and you could even go to an alignment shop and talk to them about it, perhaps it needs more than just a drag link fix. If it proves to be a simple fix put the word out about how the dealer tried to screw you, even going to the top brass at the dealership and let them know.

It doesn’t sound right being a brand new vehicle I would be making my way back to the dealer for sure. Welcome by the way.

    Thanks for the welcome guys.

The car is brand new. Pulled it off the lot last Friday with 10 miles on it. Immediately noticed the steering wheel was off on the way home. Went back to the dealer on Monday. They checked the alignment which was perfect. They then told me something about how the electric power steering automatically adjusts for different road surfaces and how the alignment is right so if he changes it for the wheel to be straight, the alignment would be off. Doesn’t sound right. Car has full warranty so I don’t know what their deal is. I am def going to go back. Don’t want to take it anywhere else and pay when I have a warranty. Wanted some more information on it first so I know they’re not just telling me anything. They said its a common issue.

That is the lamest excuse I have ever heard. Fiat quality at its best.
