So, guys... I'm an old Vietnam helicopter pilot that made and lost 2 fortunes in life... One thing though that has been a constant is my love for WJ series Jeeps. I've owned 3 and am driving a beauty with 178,000 miles. I want a backup! Tell me what you think...

I'd like to find a low mile WJ Limited that has severe mechanical problems and buy it. I want to do a project, installing a "new" 4.7 litre engine and transmission. You ask, "why not do this to the one you already own"? It is because I want no interruption to the use of my current beauty and want a truly 2nd car backup that on which I can work/restore at my leisure and have a wonderful 2nd car. I'd like comments on my idea and any input from members on "sleepers" in the U.S. that meet the requirement for low miles (WJ Limited 4.7 litre only) with mechanical issues that make them undesirable on the market to keep the project price within reason. Thanks!

Welcome @airrace ...should be more than a few mechanically disabled WJs out there for a great price and nice project plans that ought to be a good read.
