New stabilizer causing death wobble.

HELP.... Ive had my jeep for awhile, it always drives fine except when i hit a bump if looses control a little, so i thought to strengthing it up id buy a beefer steering stabilizer. After installing it i get the death wobble at 45-55mph. Any clue whats going on? I also relocated steering stabilizer could that caise it?

 

I would suggest removing the stabilizer and finding the real cause of the death wobble. Possible causes can be from worn rod ends and ball joints along with lousy suspension modifications.

 

Thank you, no suspension mods have been done other than replaced steering stabilizer. I guess im really confused as to why a stock one was fine then replacing it produced wobble. I will check rod ends and ball joints.

 

Welcome @Keoghzayd ...some believe a bigger better stabilizer will help with DW but usually it just masks the underlying problem. In addition to what @Jim Beam mentioned about typical worn suspension components inspect the tie rod and the mounts as ovalized mounting holes for the tie rod have been a factor in DW.

Thank you ill look at video i guess im not wording my problem right before installing new stabilizer i had zero issues no shaking at 45-55mph, after installing new stabilizer and relocation bracket my jeep shakes horribly (no doubt its death wobble) so my question is how would it be tie rods or ball joints if it had zero issues before? Are those issues that go from fine to not fine in a day or those seem like issues that would slowly get worse. Im new at this but i feel like maybe the relocating is the culprit or something specificly with installing new steering stabilizer (its not defective i made sure before install).

 

Working with the information you sent, your old stabilizer could have been masking the wobble. Tie rods and ball joints are only common possible problems. If you check out YouTube you can find ways to check those two items to make sure.

I had same problem on my 2015 UK I went uber jeep with a big srcew driver and started prying the dall joints anywhere track bar drag link and tie rod switch really it down but what helped the most I played under the front suspension and had my turn the steering wheel back and forth slowly and I could were the bar would if they and the connection to axle or frame moved and bar did not and there was the problem I tightened up what I could mainly the track bar and purchased a steer smarts HD YETI drag link and tie rod with ends .fixed everything I have 3" lift with and before the up grade it make your but pucker a little when n you took it above 60 mph and some un even freeway but now I can cruise at 90-95 with one hand on the wheel with confidence.
