if you have a carb that idles good and runs good, recently rebuilt, and after you run the Jeep for awhile and shut it off, gas seeps out at the base of the carburetor, brand new gasket was put on after the carb rebuild. any thoughts

Been years since I last worked on a carburetor. Seems like the carb rebuild was incomplete or maladjusted. Keep a fire extinguisher handy in case of a gas fire as I’ve lost a vehicle during a test run after installing a new carb and manifold upgrade.

    paid cash for it.
Probably the float isn’t set up right, and doesn’t shut off the gas flow correctly once the engine is shut off. Just a guess.
