Hello everyone, 15 or so years ago I bought this cj7 and in all the years I've owned it I have never seen another one like it. Other than just a regular cj7 it has a sticker on both sides of the hood that says "TEXAN" and has a emblem of the state of Texas on both fenders. I'm sure it was a dealer add on but I can't find any reference anywhere about it, can anyone help?

I agree it was likely a dealer add on, but it's cool. I have never seen one before however a google search does produce a couple of images of a Texan model CJ but not the same hood decal. Two of the ones noted on google are in France.. lol

Thanks for the welcome. You found more than I did, but from France??? I was thinking maybe a dealer here in Texas, but France... I'm in the process of updating and painting it right now but i will be putting the same emblem back on it.

Where at in Texas are you? I'm just east of Dallas. Like I said I think it came a dealer option but where did they get it and what came with it. It has a 4 banger with a t4 but came with ac and dash pad.

This doesn't have anything to do with your Texan as it was likely a dealer thing but a snippet of info I found on the Texan editions on google is they came with a 2.0 diesel, also note the marker light on the front of the fenders, the side marker lights were replaced with a 4 wheel drive badge in English.

Wow ! I had an 1985 CJ-7 Texan editiin with the same decals. Yours is the only other one I have seen. I have searched and searched for the decals with no succes. I don't have and side view pics of mine to use to recreate. I bought mine in Dallas back in 1991 I think. Unfortunately I had to sell it around 94ish.
