Rear window latch stuck in the open position

    I have a 2006 Grand Cherokee. You know how the rear window opens separate form the actual rear door. The latch for that is stuck up as if it was latched but the window isn't closed. I don't know how it happened and can't seem to get it to go back down.

    Not sure how it works but can you hold down on the latch with one hand and the other on the release and see if you can get it to unlatch you may need to get someone to help and try that.

    its a button for the release and a handle for the the full hatch. I think the whole door might be broken to be honest. Might just have to bring it in. Is it safe to drive with the window unsecured or could it shatter on a pothole.

    Depending on the road impact it could break. A bungee cord could be used to secure the window down. Biggest concern would be exhaust fume entry into the vehicle when driving.
