Wanted - Dana 30 Axle 4:10 LHD

Need to buy Dana 30 Front Axle 4:10 LHD for a 2007 Wrangler X.

 

Finding a DANA 30 with 4:10 already installed will likely be pretty hard to do, as no JK is produced stock with that combination. It would be a custom option or added after the fact. Finding a Dana 30 with other gears should be no big deal as some replace them when building more serious wheeling rigs.

Check with your local custom 4x4 shops. The Dana 30s are commonly pulled off but seldom sought after. Of course, the auto wrecking yards should be checked as well. Again...finding them with 3:73 should be easy...4:10s...not so much.

Thank you. Finding the Dana 30 4:10 has proven to be quite a challenge. Two dealerships quoted this Jeep as having a Dana 44 rear and Dana 30 front according the the VIN. But they also stated the Dana 44 would not fit this Jeep. I am not real knowledgeable when it comes to this subject, so I thought I would just try to replace with original equipment first. I am thinking now I might have to consider changing. I found somewhere that the Dana 30 4:10 was only factory installed on some of the 2007's and that was it. Obviously, the pool is pretty small.

I believe you can use any Dana 30 from 2007-2010 and possibly through the Current year and it will be a direct bolt in. This goes the same for the Dana 44 out of a Rubicon. I believe all Rubicons come standard with 410 gears. I've seen the Dana 44s sell from $1200-2200. Did you buy this Jeep for yourself or to sell. That would make a difference to me if I was putting it back together. If it was to keep, I would probably spring for Dana 44. Its is probably more than you want to spend, but you could probably find an aftermarket Dana 44 (they are stronger than the factory 44) from Teraflex, Currie, RockJock, or G2's "Core 44" for $3000 or less.

You are correct about the 07 to 10 rubicons coming with 4:10 standard. That changed in 2012+ where Rubicons can have 3:73 or 4:10 from the factory. The 3:73 is considered standard.

 

I'm not usually in the market for jk stuff. I built my 08 way back when got it dialed in and left alone. I keep it at my parents place in Utah and visit it 2-4 times a year. I'm learning that the old norms for jk have changed.

My passion is the old iron. I love seeing what I can build with the CJs and early YJs.

 

This one is a little closer to you and more money, but a Dana 44 with an elocker.
