So I bought a 1991 Yj a few months back ran great for a month or two then one day wouldn’t start. I banged on the starter and she started right up. So I replaced the starter everything was good for a few weeks then I started noticing the engine was puttering out when I took turns or was on bumpy terrain. I replaced the fuel pump and fuel tank and then it would turn over when I tried to start it. Thought maybe received a bad fuel pump so I returned it and got a new one but still had the same issue. I replaced the fuel filter and nothing changed. It will crank but just won’t start. Any ideas? Also when I spray starter fluid in the intake it starts for a second and then shuts off.

Check the fuel rail regulator... Even thought the pump is ok, the regulator can be off and not get enough fuel to the injectors.

    It's this part:

    None , original
I have the same problem , yes I have 12.6volts . It will occasionally start but will suddenly die & will not start ! This is not my 91 Jeep YJ , it is a customers and I want it to Freakin run ! It’s a brain teaser !
New fuel pump fuel filter was previously installed ! The wiring is a mess but that was not the prob, it ran good regardless !

Might be a ground problem. @Johnsjeep91w , diagnosing problems as a pro is different for sure, because you may not know the vehicle history. For example, don’t assume new parts are installed correctly. Lol.
