Hi, I just got a 2017 Jeep Compass 2 weeks ago. I had been restoring my 92 Chevy Silverado 4X4 that I bought my wife brand new. Since then she has has an 01 Silverado Z/71 extended and now her 05 Silverado crew cab Z/71. I was having a friend of my brother's put new rear spring mounts, shackles and bushings on when he found my frame was so rotted it started bending and pieces started falling off. My brother and I have worked on vehicles since we were kids growing up in our dad's full service Standard Oil station. Finding a good frame and changing is way over our abilities and since I am retired and 66 and he is still working at the GM Proving Grounds in Milford MI we are finding out we can't do things we used to do. I needed a new vehicle and every truck I checked out was so full of rust or had things wrong with them I turned them all down. The big three are not able to get the chips for the new trucks so anything in good shape was so over priced I couldn't afford it. I found this Compass I felt was a good price, my brother knows the salesman and trusts him so I got it. It has just over 62,000 miles and is rust free. Where we live on a private road you need a 4 wheel drive vehicle for winter. I hope to learn some things here. Hope everyone is well.
    Jack

I forgot to add that I don't have any real plans to do any upgrades to my Compass. I happened to notice there is a sticker on the door jam that said that a Rough Country suspension had been added to it. I did notice it rides a bit stiffer than my friend's all stock from the factory Compass. My brother also thinks it has a 2 inch lift on it. When I gat a chance to pull it in my garage I will get it raised on the jack and some stands and crawl under and take a look. I may but a grill guard on it too but right now it's just a thought and I do want to put a trailer hitch on to be able to haul my vintage camper which only weighs 1700 pounds. I will say the more I drive it the more I like it.
