sorry if I’m posting in wrong place.
My 2014 Jeep has been in the dealership for a while. 58,000 miles.
I parked it on a Friday and the next Monday I go to drive it and it wouldn’t shift gears.
Code said trans input speed sensor. Under warranty they tow it in and the part was on backorder. Wait a week and they put it in yesterday and called me saying it didn’t fix the issue now they are changing my trans.
    Does this sound normal?
Is a rebuilt trans better than a trans with 58,000 miles?? Please let me know this is all too weird and suspicious. 2014 Jeep Compass Latitude

I do not know which trans you have and I do not know the code or diagnostics done.

Hopefully you are at an authorized jeep dealer, the warranty from jeep requires a jeep re-manufactured transmission is used- no aftermarket units, ca ching $$. That would be a quality rebuild - same specs as the original unit...

Suggest you take advantage of warranty here, when vehicle is returned to you - operate and if necessary return vehicle ASAP for correction of any issues. Be sure to follow service recommendations for transmission servicing.

Welcome! If the Jeep/FCA dealership is handling your trans warranty problem your probably in the best place for the repair. The "Jeep" remanufactured trans should be better than your defective trans. Just make sure the trans shifts to your satisfaction before leaving.

Thanks guys. That’s my main concern. Yes it was all taken care of under the platinum warranty and still had coverage with a bumper to bumper from the original dealership purchased.
Glad they back their vehicles .
Can’t believe I’ve owned 50 vehicles never had one have such a small issue become a nightmare.
I didn’t wanna wait for the tow and when I looked at it I couldn’t find anything haha.
It’s the new trans the one where you don’t have to change the fluid ever, never have to change the filter, like supposedly super badass trans.
Yup they are gonna give me an extended warranty and I have a case manager with a Chrysler who called me and said because I’ll be without the vehicle for almost a full month they will compensate me for the inconvenience. I dig that.
Glad to be a part of the forum. My Jeep has some great aftermarket mods small stuff but rolling around playing Nintendo SNES is pretty sweet ;) see ya
The code was high input voltage trans input P07C0 or something and then secondary code P0733 gear 3 out of ratio.
Literally parked the thing one day and next time it acted goofy

I'm a skeptic when it comes to modern CVT or sealed transmissions with no dip stick or no fluid change needed, etc., good thing for the extended warranty

Well well welll of course the dealership said “my axel bolts are rusty the axels have to be replaced.” Then on the paperwork it clearly says “mechanic damaged threads to axel taking off axel nut ordered axels “ so 25 fricken days later I finally see the Jeep and boy she’s beautiful than ever!
The dealership waved the $100 deductible and I didn’t even complain. I was sincerely just happy to get it back and was ready to pay.
So now I have 100,000 miles warranty on a new trans and axels they say ... which means at 98,999 I’m hoping she blows! Thanks again all. Black beauty lives!

I had this exact same problem but saw a YouTube video where you pull a plastic plug out on the passenger side of the heat shifter and there is a plastic tab you push forward with your finger and it unlocks the shifter. Currently trying to find a way to fix it because dealer also wants to replace my transmission but I am out of warranty and I know it runs fine after I push that plastic flap over.
