Wrangler door handle does release door

    I am trying to fix the front passenger door handle on my son-in-laws 2007 Wrangler (4door). When the door is unlocked with the key fob, you cannot open the door when the door handle button is depressed. To get the door open, you must reach across from the drivers side and use the inside door handle to release it. Did a plastic clip break? Any thoughts on what part needs replacing?
