Did a search and didn't find any definite answers. The threads are a bit messed up on my column where the steering wheel nut goes on. I would like to fix this by chasing the threads with the correct size die. Anyone know the answer to what size and pitch the threads are? Looks like the wrong nut was put on at some point.

Buy or borrow a thread pitch gauge and then the correct thread file. You should be able to dress them up well enough to work unless they are totally screwed up. That may not be a standard SAE thread and would require a special thread die (read expensive).

I like Starrett but for this use, a cheapy version will suffice.

Thank you for the reply. It ended up being m14x1.50, so I just used a die to chase the threads and put a new nut on it.
