I'll start off with a disclaimer. I am not a mechanic lol so please be gentle!

I have a 1999 Cherokee XJ Classic 4L Straight-Six automatic 4x4 beauty. The transfer case died on me so I bought a 231 Transfer Case for a replacement and had a mechanic install it. Said mechanic told me I'm missing the transfer case shift link; however, has been zero help in locating the replacement part(s). When I try to research it, I get so many different parts and cant seem to figure out what it is I need.

Would this work? Its a conversion kit for XJs with 231 compatibility.

I can can take and upload some photos if needed.

Glad to hear you found a solution. My '16 is too different to be of assistance.
