Hi, I’m here hoping to get an answer to my problem. My brand new 2021 jeep compass latitude was bought brand new from the dealer last May. 4 months ago things started smelling really bad and now the interior is very sticky. Sticky to the point that it gets into your clothing, hair hands etc.. the seats are sticky, the carpet the dash, doors and handles, all knobs and buttons. Anyone know what can cause this? And this was my outside window when I got into my car tonight. A thick white coating on the outside windows but it’s winter so I doubt it could be tree sap. I kept running the washer fluid and wipers and it took 1/2 hour before I could see to drive it.

**things started smelling really bad and now the interior is very sticky: could be mold/mildew from excess moisture in the vehicle whether from window/door leaks, sunroof drain clogged, ac/evap drain clogged, change your cabin filter etc

**thick white coating on the outside windows: try soft scrub window cleaner, high quality wiper blades, winter-mix windshield washer fluid

I just had it detailed. Over $600 to clean it. I have an appointment with the dealer to check for leaks in 2 weeks. The detailer pulled over a quart of water out of the front seats. They extracted before beginning because it felt damp. They also said it was gross. Black chunks were coming out of the seats. This is a brand new car and I cannot figure out how it hot this way. If it is a leak they had better put me in a new car because the damage is done!!! They said the cabin filter was pure black, sticky and stinky. How can this be? I only had it since last may. It was brand new off the lot. The last 2021 and I hit a deal they say. Most people don’t even know they have a cabin filter and I’ve changed cabin filters before that were years in and never were they black and sticky
