I have a 2010 awd jeep grand cherokee larado.
I would like a bit more ground clearence so I can drive the beaches while pursuing my sport of surf casting.
The fact that my vehicle is awd makes it very costly to install a lift kit.
    Any suggestions out there?
    Thanks,
    Sammy B

Welcome! Surprisingly, its pretty easy to install a lift on the Jeep. It could be something you could do your self, and save some money.

I've been told that my 2010 grand cherrokee All Wheel Drive larado is not a good vehicle for riding on sandy beaches.l
    here in East Hampton.
    Low ground clearence.
Rough Country makes 2 inch lift kit but they told me that I would have to change

The fact that my 2010 Larado is All Wheel Drive will require, other changes besides the 2 inch lift kit.
I was told by the company Rough Country.
    It gets rather expesive.

    The ground clearence is 8.2.
I'm looking to raise it two inches.
If I install different springs and different shocks, will it suffice?
The other issue is that my vehicle has the smaller wheels/tires ( standard )
I think they are 16 inch wheels.
I sold my old chevy 2000 ZR2 Blazer which was a dream on the beach.
    Rotted out.
    Thanks for your imput.

    Hi Chis

    Here's the scoop.
    According to manual,
    Jeep grand cherokee larado 2010
    I have a Quadra Track 1
    All wheel 4 wheel drive
    Single speed high
    So,
Can I gain ground clearence without installing a lift kit,m by changing the shocks and springs.
    Thanks for your imput

Let me look into that. I was under the impression that you can install a small lift without issues.

The only reason I can find, in regards to not lifting, is due to a slight vibration if lifting over 3", and that seems due to pinion angle. Most every one says its not a big deal, and the recommendation to not lift, is mostly a "CYA" type of thing.
