Largest tire without a lift on an 06 Commander

    Do you mean Drive train, or drive as in how it rides? There is a big write up on Rocky-roads web site about lifts greater than 2.5 inches causing lots of damage to the drive train mainly the front CV axles of the independent front suspension (IFS). There is some truth there if the lift were not designed well. For example the higher the lift the more angle the cv axles have to work shortening their lifespan. If the lift is designed well it would drop the center housing of the axle while raising the height of the Jeep keeping the correct CV axle alignment and maintaining a long life for them. Think of the big lifted Chevy trucks. They have that square brackets low in front. This is similar to what you would have to do for the Commander. I think this is what it would look like:

    Notice the underside of the Jeep where the brackets drop down under the Jeep frame?

    Hey thanks for the info and yes i read that it screws with the drive train im only looking to raise it a few inches antways i dont want it too high 2.5 would be good id like to keep it under 400 dollars for the kit, is there any suggestions?

    If your looking at all of the puck kits, I'd say they're all about the same. Some may be metal and some poly. I'd go with metal.
