Hot out, cool in, dead fan.

my e fan never kicked on but it was hot today and temp went above normal slightly. fan reads open but i see no 12 v coming to it,fuses ok,swaped relay but not sure about it.should i read volts coming to relay from fuse 10? from pcm?
advice pls. oh, air works right, temp sender works good,is there 2?

 

A couple years ago I was driving home to Albuquerque from Roswell and saw an elderly gentleman standing out front of his Chrysler vehicle on the side of the road. He told me that his engine was overheating and one of his cooling fans wasn't working. He told me that he had just replaced the power connector on one of the fans because it was melted. He still had the old part and showed it to me. I managed to find the power connector for the second fan and sure enough the connectors were loose. It wouldn't be long before he would have to replace another melted connector. I tightened the electrical connectors inside the plastic housing and it started working again.

That whole little story was a long winded way to tell you to check the electrical connectors inside the power plug that feeds your fans. I suspect that may be a design flaw on other Chrysler vehicles too. If the connector is ok and you have power to it, then your fan is probably bad. They do burn out unfortunately.

 

yeah,there was no volts there and the fan was bad,but new fan runs fine??
