In 2015 my wife and I purchased a 4 door Wrangler Sahara, absolutely love the vehicle, my concern now is pulling a pop up camper, so many mixed messages, camper is under towing capacity but being told that the wheel base is too narrow, any reliable advice fully appreciated.

if you can see my photo then you can see my boat I pull with my 2014 Sport Wrangler. My jeep came stock with rear sway bar and I know that helps with stability when towing. Maybe check to see if you have one also? Also I can tell you my boat & trailer tow just fine. I have Mud Hog 35" x 17 tires and a lift kit so I use a drop ball hitch to keep them straight. Hope that was useful for you. Good luck.

Short wheel base and gearing factors into the towing capacity, i.e.: 3.73 gears it is rated for 3,500k and if not it is rated for 2,000k. Just take it easy and remember to leave plenty of room in front of you as it will take longer to stop. Consider a trans cooler if not equipped.

Not sure what you mean by will base too narrow? The JK is 65in wide the same as many full size 1/2ton pick-ups, more than other 1/2 tons. Also at a wheel base length of 114 inches the JKU is longer then many toyota, nissan, Mazda pick ups and many short bed regualr cab 1/2 tons which are pulling all kinds of Trailers. Does your camper have brakes? Add a trailer package to your JKU that has 7pin and trailer brake controller. I believe Jeep has one that can be installed at the dealership. And what Aggrex said.
