2010 JK Misfiring

    Just changed plugs, wires and coil. 83k miles and needed it anyway. Still misfiring. Anybody experience this? Code said #4 cylinder

    I would look at the fuel delivery. Has it always been number 4? Switch plugs and wires from another cylinder to to eliminate the ignition side of the equation

    Since replacing all plugs, wires and coil, my feeling is that ignition is rules out. That cylinder gets spark. You are on to something. I noticed a very strong fuel smell when it is running but no leaks that I can see.

    As long as you feel good about ignition, I would swap injectors between a couple of cylinders to see if the code moves. If it does replace injector, if it doesn't look into harness for that injector

    So this was my issue and solution: The misfiring was as mentioned on the obd. #4 cylinder spark. I changed all plugs. Still got the #4 misfiring. Changed all wires. This is where i screwed up. Now I have random misfire including #4 cylinder. Unknowing to me, as hard as i tried not to, I crossed a wire. I next changed the coil. Still, of course, same problem. Finally I figured it out. 3 and 5 were crossed. Wheww!! The problem was the #4 wire. Headers on the jk and a couple wires thread between on the driver side. Think that caused it to wear on that wire.

    The cool thing is that I was due for a tune up. At 83k miles, those spark plugs were toast! Glad I was only out of a hundred bucks!!
