black soot in tailpipe

    98 and 2000 xj's 99wj
    98 lifted, 00 stock 99wj just beautiful
    i noticed "dust" on my back bumper. looked in t pipe, its black,rubs off on my finger. its my 2000 cher. sport 4.0
    never noticed it b4 so i dont know when it started. runs good and smooth,plenty of power. no other symptoms but it cant be right huh?
    any help appreciated.

    Probably just an overly rich fuel mixture. However, it is normal for car engines to produce a small amount of soot since most of them are not perfectly efficient in burning fuel.
