Removing a shifter extension

    '94 Jeep Wrangler YJ
    I have installed a new transmission in my YJ but I need to remove the extension from the old shifter to place on the new one...any ideas on how to remove just the extension??

    Welcome! All the extensions I have seen, are welded on.
