Greetings from Cali (North SD County)! Over the years I’ve previously owned a CJ, Scout, and Suburban but spent way too much time working to really do a whole lot off-highway other than fairly mild stuff with my wife and kids. The kids are gone but the wife’s still around after 38 years so I guess she’ll keep me.
I’ll build the JK as I go along and figure out what I like doing best. I know enough to know I have a lot to learn about everything. Looking forward to it.

    WELCOME TO THE FORUM.... :jeepwave:

A 2016 Rubuicon wow what more do you need in San Diego, what is jeep used for getting to a beach and driving the sands, surf fishing or some desert, HA HA California tells us no hunting, a mountain or snow, WHY do I ask - it guides the modifications, In your area my thoughts are hard top and good AC but I admit I am a curmudgeon.

Thanks - I’m more of a desert/mountain guy so usually Anza Borrego, tentative plans for Death Valley this fall.
Hard top (check), AC (check). I needed an auto trans because the hip replacement(s) that forced me off my street bike ruled out a manual.

Yes! I’ve been told that’s a must have.
Priority-wise I’m planning that or bumpers/winch next. I’ve got a list that gets longer all the time...But I’ll take that convo to the mods forum.
Thanks for the good advice and warm reception! Much appreciated!

I would have to suggest one of the local Jeep clubs. Especially when you have so many options of where to take that thing.
