I had my check engine light checked and the mechanic said that my BCM is starting to go. I found a place that will fix them cheep, but can't find the BCM itself. I have done lots of research, but everything either points me towards a ECM/PCM or to Grand Cherokees. Does anyone know where the BCM is?

I will get you that information, BUT I ask you to try something fast easy FREE.

Take the jeep to a auto part store - advance, autozone, orielys etc, they do FREE scans as a customer service, copy and post all the codes they retrieve.

Yes BCMs do fail but I wonder about that diagnosis, no explanation what why?
Take another moment and tell us the issues other than the check eng light you are experiencing.

OH WELCOME TO the forum the gang will always be willing to help.

I dont have the exact codes, but the mechanic said the rest of the electronics were not able to connect to the BCM. There was a short somewhere in the car, and there were a lot of electrical problems. The ABS light went on and off, the windows worked intermittently, and the interior lights would turn on randomly (without turning on the switch), and intermittent stalling.

I believe there is no BCM in a XJ cherokee.

SO I suggest we regroup get codes describe events and history.

Does this term ring a bell "no buss" ?
